Like many holiday weekends throughout the year, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has instituted a “No Refusal” policy for this Memorial Day weekend. The “No Refusal” policy means that peace officers throughout Tarrant County will have prosecutors and judges available to prepare and execute search warrant to extract the blood of drivers that refuse to provide a breath or blood sample following an arrest for DWI. The blood sample will then be analyzed to determine whether the driver was intoxicated. These resources will be available all weekend until 4 a.m. until Tuesday morning
The District Attorney’s Office has added a new twist to this policy. In addition to possible incarceration, fines, fees, and a loss of the privilege to drive, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office will publish the names and ages of the individuals arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated this Memorial Day weekend on the district attorney’s website, TarrantDa.com.
If you’re going to be out in Tarrant County this holiday weekend, please be careful.
